My suggestion would be to use the text with an outline in a different color; ideally, white outlined in black shows up wonderfully. If you don't have a program that can do that, I'll do it for you.
NP.:) If you have paint shop prop or photoshop then you definitely can make it work. Other programs I know less about.
I like it because it lets you put the letters anywhere you want on the picture without covering any more of the pic up than the letters cover on their own, but I know some programs make it a pain in the rear to work on, even if they CAN do it.
