I really love this challenge.  Please know that you can NEVER go wrong with a crossover or mutli-verse crossover (Infinite Spocks in Infinite Timelines?  JUST SMASH EVERYONE TOGETHER AND WAVE YOUR HANDS) and a little cracky is juuuuust right.  I like serious too, but sometimes I am down for "And then, somehow, Palpatine returned" so we can get to the characters doing their thing.  A big “save the multiverse mission” followed by the loudest party ever would be ACES.

I did trim this one down from last year to highlight the ones I was really excited about.

So this would be the total crack slot.  (I mean, if you want to approach it in a serious mode, I would NOT say no, but these all feel a little cracky to me.)

Voltron meets TOS  – I just think it could be interesting.  Allura dealing with Sarek intrigues me.  Trek characters getting to pilot the Lions?  Sarek dealing with Allura as an equal? 

I’ve been on a kick with my OTP from Paladin of Souls, so decided to toss that in this year.  I think these two could be interesting.  Also both of them are having a relationship with a partner who has unique issues.

 MASH meets Trek: So if you’’ve seen the image of Hawkeye  in Starfleet blue, that helped inspire this.  Also the deliberate callouts to MASH in SNW s2e8 (can Radar hear the transporter?) made me think this could be interesting.    That, and I feel like these two could have a good moment together, and they’d both benefit from a little healing.

So in case it’s not obvious, Queen Marlena in He-Man is my favorite character AND she’s an astronaut and she would probably enjoy meeting this crew.  Marlena and Amanda could trade some advice on how best to support your son through his unique challenges.  Marlena and La’an share a certain energy to get the mission accomplished that I like.

So, after the “holodeck” episode with Amelia Moon (which I LOVED, good to know the holodeck has been trying to kill people from the beginning) who clearly looked to be based on Bonita Granville’s Nancy Drew portrayal, I think Nancy would be good too.

Alynna Nechayev - I just love her.

Ben Maxwell - Intriguing character.

Beverly Crusher - I am a huge fan.

Elizabeth Shelby - I love her.

Ro Laren - Not served well by the story, but I love her.

Natasha Yar - Let her live.

I do have one specific request if you go the Yar/Castillo route. I would love a riff on the part where he says if they do make it back, and she sees an older man giving her a strange look - I would LOVE for this to happen but it is the main timeline Natasha, not the one with a really bad haircut.

Please note that I am definitely a Picard/Crusher and Riker/Troi shipper, if you want to include that as background.  I did not P/C  because I’ve requested alternate versions of them, but feel free to play in.

Please also note that for Next Gen, I prefer you imagine the movies (and to a certain extent Picard) just do not exist.  Characters I particularly liked didn’t fare so well in the movies(i.e., the women and the whole death by fire/Nexus thing).

So my personal headcanon post “Preemptive Strike” is that Ro did not really defect but I working for Starfleet Intel (not Section 31) and Nechayev.  Feel free to play with that idea – how did she recruit Ro?  Also in my Nechayev headcanon, she would have been a captain during the Cardassian war era and there is no love lost there.  For Alynna and Beverly, either some sort of diplomatic mission gone wrong or a more formal event could be good.

Ben Maxwell – I thought this was a really interesting portrayal of a character with some PTSD (and the fact that he was right – I LOVE the last scene with Picard and Gul Macet where he lets Macet know we’re on to your game but are not breaking the peace).  How do we find a place for him?  Also the ship is in my headcanon for Nechayev.

Tasha Yar – I’d be here for an AU where she lives.  How would that impact the stories later on?  How might she and Ro get on?  Also the Yar/Castillo story in the request would be delightful (especially if she feels drawn to him but doesn’t quite understand WHY).

Beverly – last but CERTAINLY not least.  I’d love to see something with and Ro and/or Tasha in sort of a mentoring role (sounds like a great place for some of those late night bridge shifts we know Beverly takes).  Maybe a Disaster style story?  The three of them on an away mission?  For Shelby, some sort of bonding after the Borg defeat?

So I realize I accidentally requested fanart, but no one offered this.  If you’re reading it, I did want fanfic!

So what happens after for P/C? Tell me that story, but feel free to mix in the rest of the Stargazer crew.

I reread this one last year and I love how he hints at the P/C, how they’ve got the remembered angst, Jack’s death, all of that.  Let them move past it now.  Where do they go from where they are?  Especially Pug telling about Jack’s death, which I am willing to bet he did NOT tell Beverly.

Beverly & Gilaad could be interesting as well, either him teasing her OR the two of them combining to tease Picard.

P/C Angst with some resolution? Mail it to my address!

So at the end of the book, we once again have the P/C stand-down... but what if we didn't? What if they talked about what happened? What if they made some of those dreams come true (i.e. bang)? Or, you know the whole moment where Picard isn't sure which Beverly died? Like, I'll be here for you to tell me any of these stories. Or how crazy it is to glimpse a different future.

So yes, that “moment that cuts across moments” at the end.  Feel free to go back to that.  Feel free to DO SOMETHING with it.  The whole not knowing which Beverly was gone, and letting that be a catalyst to feelings?  I’m right here with you.

The same essentially for Will/Deanna, especially since they MET their counterparts.

Tasha and Worf – It would have been nice if they could have some more interactions, especially since Worf clued in on what was happening quicker than others (based on his Parallels experience).  Or maybe each reflecting on it back in their respective realities?

B Picard and A Jack – A way for it to end without Jack killing himself?

Please know I would be totally in to you just slamming SNW/TOS together as dimensional travel, feel free to work the books in!

This is the one I like the best about this challenge!  I’m serious, just slam them together!

Elizabeth & Una & La’an – The no fun badass squad gets together thru time travel.  Bonus points if you work in Mac/Shelby and Una/Chris.

Ael & La’an: I want to see how Ael would interact with this crew.  Obviously the timelines don’t add up but I am totally here for crazy time-travel multiverse, and contemplating how they are different from the crew she knows is totally welcome (especially Spock).

TOS Crew & SNW La’an: I think this could be fun.  For this one, I would treat SNW as an alternate reality and not a past.  I think La’an and “beam a phaser rifle down” Spock could match energy in a delightful way,(NOTE: I thought this before they decided she and SNW Spock should match energy in a more intimate way) and a more confident Uhura might be a good foil. 

La’an & TAS Crew – I think she and Davison could be a fun matchup, and I think she and this Spock might make an interesting pairing – they both have experience with time travel!

La’an & Khan: So I would totally be down for a story where La'an is on the ship when Khan gets picked up. Up to you if we slide the event forward to Pike's time or have her on the ship, but I think it would be really interesting. I’d really be interested in how La’an handles this.  Obviously there would be no BS trying to figure out who he is, whether they could trust him, but how would he react to her?  I find it really intriguing.  La’an being on the Enterprise when they pick up Khan (who’s clearly a known baddie) – how does that go?  Maybe they don’t drop him off at Ceti Alpha V?  Also sounds like a good opportunity for some La’an/James or La’an/ Spock or my OT3 of La’an/Spock/James.  (I meant to nom the last and did not…)

I also find the idea of the Noonien-Singh siblings going head-to-head with their ancestor to be really intriguing,

Nechayev & La’an – I feel like La’an would enjoy working for/with her.

La’an & Ro: I think this could be fun, since they both have unique baggage.

Jack & Jack: Maybe as part of Q testing him?  Either of these could be really entertaining. 

Pike & Calhoun – I feel like these two ships’s crews could be fun all the way down, and the captains are the start.  (I’d also be interested in how Shelby & Una match up, Spock & Soleta, La’an & Soleta and if you want to work in Morgan Lefler and Mark McHenry, that could be… interesting.)

VAM Spock/TOS Nyota: I think this would be an interesting place to start this relationship, especially with Spock's experiences in the book...  Technically this might be more of a fusion, but I just think it would be fun.

So La'an is the character I didn't realize I was going to love, and I need more stories about her.

Of all the new ST things, this is my favorite. I intially was 100% here for Una and Pike and Spock but La'an really grew on me!

I'm current on Season 3, and interested in Season 2 or 3 specific stories! Especially what happens after To Be Continued.

S3 specific: I am not super thrilled with the ending for Marie Batel or the copout at the end of s3e9 (otherwise an excellent episode) but all in all, I'm happy with S3.  s3e8 was definitely much better than I originally expected, and there's that whole 3 month time skip between s3e1 and s3e2 where clearly Things Happened. s3e2 was nothing short of hilarious, even if it's another point towards SNW as its own timeline.  The holodeck episode?  I freaking loved it.  s3e6 and the PHONES? s3e7 was also really good.

So let’s talk about Season 2 peeps!  The Hippocratic Oath is fuzzy on the subject of kneecaps and throats!  Yay Una is back!  No, they’re still pushing the Pike/Batel thing (I am not into it, it is not my thing, why does she never eat the fabulous food?). La’an and star-crossed doomed time-travel love.  I fly the ship (on Alpha shift).  Why is Spock eating bacon?  Why is Sam Kirk suddenly missing from the cleanest science lab in history? We finally meet the real Kirk!  Kirk meets Spock (and Uhura doesn’t know this is her life for the next 50 years).  Cartoon crossover!  M’Benga gets away with murder (and can we please leave the PTSD crew ALONE?). All systems stable!  Why are we singing?  Who’s going to be Gorn chow?  WHAT DO YOU MEAN “TO BE CONTINUED”?

I am personally on the SNW doesn’t have to lead to our TOS train – I am totally okay with assuming it spins out/plays out differently.  If you want to get inspired by TOS episodes, go right ahead.  I kind of wish that they had called the Gorn something else, because I feel like it would make things stronger.

Just inject it into my veins. After sitting out several of the newer shows, I dove into this one and please just give me more more more. I think the things I REALLY want to know is, what all was happening in that alternate timeline before we got dropped into it.  I really love this new show, although I am wondering about continuity but NOT REALLY CARING I LOVE THIS CREW.

La'an/James - I am here for all the AUs or... get them together somehow.  AU or continuation of what we’ve seen – after all we know Carol and Kirk don’t work out…. I lean towards the AU though.  Interested in seeing how his Tarsus 4 background plays in. What Happened in the Alternate Timeline before S1E10 would also be a great place for La’an and James to hook up again…. If you decide to do the Kirk & Kirk one, I am here for you to factor this ship in.  I didn’t really want a whole La’an & M’Benga story but if you want to use them as part of your background go for it.  (Also, La’an totally knows what went down in S2E8.  And she understands the final line of that episode.  Some broken things can’t be fixed, only maintained.  That’s a super good take on the PTSD issue, honestly.)

La'an/James/Spock - Okay there was like one look but I am really thinking it would solve some issues.  know it was a glance in the 6th episode but now I need it.  The moment at the end of s3e10 about "interesting relationships" hit me RIGHT in the OT3 feels.  I'm also done cooking on La'an/Spock - we need more of it.

La'an & Manu - AU where both siblings survive - So I am totally here for both of them surviving their childhood AUs?  Maybe Manu is on Farragut?  Alternate timelines?  I don’t care.  An AU where he lives?  How would having a sibling change things?   Feel free to include Khan as well, if you like.  Manu seems intriguing, from what we see – he’s smart and brave.  Or perhaps he somehow did not get eaten?

Batel & La'an - These two get in a jam together (have pity on whoever their opponents are)

Una/Chris - long time shipper here

La’an is on Kirk’s Enterprise when they encounter Khan Noonien Singh.  I’m very interested in this, especially since she has not killed him once…but might think differently in this round.  Also feel free to have him try and exploit their tie.  Could be an AU.  If you’d like to play with the La’an meets Khan in Space Seed with La’an/James, I am (obviously) here for it, whether they have been together or that’s why they get together.  Also here for it with La’an/James/Spock.
