Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light

These are one of my rare pair favorites, anything sexy or sweet will do!

 

I’ve been requesting this and thinking about them more.  Fandom is small, it feels like about five people on AO3 have even heard of it (eps are available online) and there’s a lot of room to play, a lot of depth and room to explore.

 

I love how evenly matched Cryotek/Galadria are.  The whole scene where we see her surprise him (and then they get interrupted by the baddies) is ripe for “like canon but make it sexier”.  But in that scene I love how they immediately slide back to back, and she is an asset, not a liability.  Please bring the shippiness.

 

For worldbuilding prompts: New trials at the Shrine? More knights? Are the current ones recruiting like a competition?

 

There’s a stupid running joke about botanical gardens that is clearly to entertain adults  but tell me about it! Perhaps each region has an area, or it ends up being like the Hanging Gardens?

 

I think something where they are on a joint mission and have to cooperate with Cindarr (who is not really quite so bad as the rest of the crew) would be interesting.  What do they think of him?  What does he think of them?  Channel the tag “Villain and hero both agree that hero’s loved one is delightful” and I am in.  Teaming up with their counterparts for Reasons is always entertaining.

 

How does PTSD affect the characters?  How did the collapse of their society impact them?  Obviously our characters coped fairly well.

 

If you feel like going steamy, I have some thoughts as well.

 

Sparring as foreplay – they hint at it in the first episode, but I feel like it is definitely a thing for them.  This is also a great place for “That one scene from canon, but make it sexier”.

 

Basically what it says.  I love that the gruff, stern guy got the girl instead of the usual hero character.  I’m totally here for the two of them kicking some ass, getting down, meeting alternate version of themselves, having romantic sexy times.   I’m easy to please on this one.  Feel free to use one of the cold related prompts, and feel free to turn up the steam

 

Villain and hero agree – For this, I think it would be interesting to see a scenario where the 2 of them have to work with Cindarr, and have a little bonding post mission.

Not going to lie I LOVED the whole Captain Carter cartoon (S1E1) and would just like more in that vein!

 

I LOVED jacked Peggy.  Peggy/Steve – go for it.  Peggy/Howard – fondue?  Peggy/Steve/Bucky – maybe?  I have seen Season 2, but would be fine with just focusing on S1.  I love the whole 1940s take on it, and AUs are always nice as well.

I love this show, and these pairings are all what I need! I've been a Number One/Pike shipper for a long time, but this new incarnation of the crew is what I need!

 

Of all the new ST things, this is my favorite. I intially was 100% here for Una and Pike and Spock but La'an really grew on me!

 

I'm current on Season 2, and very interested in Season 2 specific stories! Especially what happens after To Be Continued.

 

So let’s talk about Season 2 peeps!  The Hippocratic Oath is fuzzy on the subject of kneecaps and throats!  Yay Una is back!  No, they’re still pushing the Pike/Batel thing (I am not into it, it is not my thing, why does she never eat the fabulous food?). La’an and star-crossed doomed time-travel love.  I fly the ship (on Alpha shift).  Why is Spock eating bacon?  Why is Sam Kirk suddenly missing from the cleanest science lab in history? We finally meet the real Kirk!  Kirk meets Spock (and Uhura doesn’t know this is her life for the next 50 years).  Cartoon crossover!  M’Benga gets away with murder (and can we please leave the PTSD crew ALONE?). All systems stable!  Why are we singing?  Who’s going to be Gorn chow?  WHAT DO YOU MEAN “TO BE CONTINUED”?

 

I am personally on the SNW doesn’t have to lead to our TOS train – I am totally okay with assuming it spins out/plays out differently.  If you want to get inspired by TOS episodes, go right ahead.  I kind of wish that they had called the Gorn something else, because I feel like it would make things stronger.

 

Just inject it into my veins. After sitting out several of the newer shows, I dove into this one and please just give me more more more. I think the things I REALLY want to know is, what all was happening in that alternate timeline before we got dropped into it.

 

I really love this new show, although I am wondering about continuity but NOT REALLY CARING I LOVE THIS CREW.

 

I read the comic and was kind of Meh.

 

I am a lifelong shipper for Number One/Pike.

 

La'an/James: AU or continuation of what we’ve seen – after all we know Carol and Kirk don’t work out…. I lean towards the AU though.  Interested in seeing how his Tarsus 4 background plays in. What Happened in the Alternate Timeline before S1E10 would also be a great place for La’an and James to hook up again…. If you decide to do the Kirk & Kirk one, I am here for you to factor this ship in.  I didn’t really want a whole La’an & M’Benga story but if you want to use them as part of your background go for it.  (Also, La’an totally knows what went down in S2E8.  And she understands the final line of that episode.  Some broken things can’t be fixed, only maintained.  That’s a super good take on the PTSD issue, honestly.)

 

La’an and Manu: An AU where he lives?  How would having a sibling change things?   Feel free to include Khan as well, if you like.  Manu seems intriguing, from what we see – he’s smart and brave.  Or perhaps he somehow did not get eaten?

 

So, uh, TO BE CONTINUED… feel free to tell me what you think comes next.  How do Sam and La’an deal with what happened right before TO BE CONTINUED?  Feel free to mix in La’an/James influence.  Vanishing hitchhikers? Creepy abandoned space stations/ships?  Weird dreams?

 

La’an & Sam: Interested in how they interact. Play it into La’an wanting to weasel out more info about James or not.  Also, when does Sam realize he is never getting away from little brother? 

 

Una/Pike AU: I’m totally here for an AU after the comet episode (they’re so close why didn’t you kiss?). They need a clue brick. 

For all 3 couples, feel free to play with the S1E10 stuff or go with something else, especially if you tie into either of the other dimension travel ones.  I’d love one where they hook up after realizing how good their counterparts are together.  Or maybe an AU where Chris did pick an Eve?

This fandom - like I really expected more from it, but my then-husband I saw it in theaters with one other person in the whole place. Then like 15 years later our kid was obsessed with it.

First, I am SO glad this encompasses both siblings so I don't have to burn a slot.

 

 Just watched Revolution at Christmas and WOW! Loved it (was a little lukewarm on Adam/Teela but I always have been) but I just want more - classic Filmation or this!

 

I love Adam/Casta and will tell you a whole lot more in the letter.

 

But really, I love all of them.

 

Casta/Adam - Whether or not this is a crossover depends on the exchange but I just love these two, and I love how Casta appreciates him.

 

He-Man | Adam (He-Man MOTU)/Castaspella (She-Ra 1985), See the MOTU sections of the letter for more ideas – if I suggested it there, I’d love it here.  I love He-Man and Castaspella together and think it could be excellent to have more.  Or if you’re down for a good AU, Adam gets taken instead of Adora, go crazy. 

 

I love Adam and He-Man.  I love how he’s conflicted, and how Marlena KNOWS.  The whole Rainbow Warrior episode in MOTU, and the moment where she tells him that a mother knows what her son is capable of – that’s one of my favorite movies in the whole series.  (Bonus points if you have jokes about comic book characters being what tips Marlena off). Or the moment where Adora is kidnapped and Marlena is tearfully asking him for help.  The feels, every time.  Or a fic where they visit Earth and Marlena gets to see her home?

 

Does Marlena being from Earth have anything to do with her children’s special fate? 

Randor telling Marlena about Eternian myths/history (could even do a reverse 1001 nights). 

 

Castle Grayskull – is it, as Revelations suggests, the well of all magic on Eternia?

 

Marlena Glenn is an astronaut from Earth who crashes on Eternia, falls for the king, and never goes home. Oh yeah, and her kids are superheroes.

 

There is an episode where Eternia and Earth make contact, but it's not the best. So give me a better one! Maybe some sort of rover/probe/space machine ends up on Eternia (yes, I would totally love a happy ending for a little space machine whose battery is running low and it's dark) and this leads to them making contact? I'd love to see Marlena at least visit home, or have vistors from home, or somehow open up communications.  This would be great for #6.

 

I especially like the idea of little space machines. Man-at-Arms could fix and improve it! I would also love the idea that Earth has been looking for Marlena. I'd also love a hint of the two of them sharing mechanical skills?

 

Or if you want to go a different route, what constellations do the Eternians see? What are their stories? (Maybe one could be the Tiger? or the Champion? or the Falcon? or Duncan's Hammer?) Is Sol visible from Eternia?  How do these tie into Eternian myth/history?

 

The space corridors, one of the really useful plot devices that...could have been used to send a young astronaut home? Is there one that can reach Earth? Pretty open here.  Or is there a reason the Sorceress never offers that up?

 

I am a Man-At-Arms/Sorceress shipper.

 

I have seen Revelations and Revolution but not the reboot, so if you want to play on that I am in.  Obviously the space machine would be more of a probe than a rover, but that is Opportunity focused.  I'm good with something more introspective/romantic with the constellations one, and I would enjoy seeing Marlena get a message from home or even the chance to visit.

Jacqui lives – How would this change dynamics? She can be alive at the time of the story or not, but not have her go down in that plane crash. I like to think she’d be a good addition, and see through all of Eric Raymond’s BS. Feel free to kill Emmett instead…or not.

I’ve been wanting a deeper look into Danse’s search for her mother – maybe an Unsolved Mystery or something?

Riot/Stormer just strikes me as having interesting possibilities, since they are both the serious musician/creator in their group.  It seems like it would also be a huge shock to everyone else.

Maureen/Richard, I’m here for all the tags, because there is a little bit of extra baggage there.  I just really think Richard/Maureen would have been an interesting pair, and much better than Richard/Sharon.  I'd love to see how this plays out - from both the adults' perspective and girls' perspective.  Maureen/Richard feel like they have some energy that could be good.  I’m not a Richard/Sharon fan and I won’t be sad if we just pretend Dawn doesn’t exist.  Maybe Elizabeth is doing a little matchmaking?  Maybe they start a relationship while the girls are on summer vacation and then can't quite figure out how to reveal it?  They could be fun for the joking about flirting until it isn't a joke trope.

Charlie/Janine. I am totally here for the idea that maybe they’re having a relationship at school and wondering how to spill it to the crew at home.  Or they get busted!  Long-distance relationship after a holiday hookup that they have to make public?  The Thomas connection is crazy and complicated (and I love it for them). I am super here for the “unmarried couple fantasizing about getting married at a wedding” one here.

For this one, I am here for the “double date busted” (Do you see that couple over there?) storylines!  I'm also here for "person suspects they are dating and dismisses it because it's too far-fetched".

 

Charlie/Mary Anne – I usually write these two, but I love the crush on the best friend’s older brother trope and they are perfect for it.  Prefer MA be out of HS.

Wedding.  You cannot go wrong with a wedding story for me in this fandom.  If you want to use another couple anchor it, I’m good with using Sam/Stacey.

 

I’ve asked about this one before.  I am totally part of the part of BSC fandom more invested in the parents and wondering if Stoneybrooke is like Peyton Place.  Bonus points if Elizabeth is helping fix them up!  I’ve received a lovely story for FIAB 2023 about Richard being a ball of anxiety and I’d be down for either of them experiencing jitters.  I’ve never been a Dawn fan, TBH, or any of the Schaefer crew.  But what kind of tensions do we have in the group if these two hook up?  If they got married, how would the “Mary Anne & Stacey are stepsisters” play out – as opposed to bringing in an outsider, it crosses the 2 main pairs of besties)?  Do they have a meet cute?  Did Elizabeth engineer it?  Does Maureen need to make the first move?  Is there some angst along the way? Do they get down?

Mainframe/Zarana, I am completely here for a rescue type story.

 

Good with getting together, Not Getting Caught, no one noticing you're a Thing, getting busted as a Thing. Feel free to steam it up some.

 

I helped create CG/BH as a shippy couple and I miss them.  The other two have a opposites attract vibe that I like.  To be fair, Beach and CG are also opposites attract and then drive each other nuts before they get a room.   I have not written for them in awhile, but BH/CG takes me back to a warm little fandom place.  Stolen moments are good.

 

I also love love love Mainframe/Zarana – but how much more fun would it be if she really was working for GI Joe?  I’m seeing a rescue story here as a possibility.  Feel free to play around with him not being amused about the whole double agent thing.  If you take that route, I am fine with Zandar being not a bad guy (unlike their other brother).

 

Baroness/Steeler are from the Worlds Without End two parter but I would love more about what happens after the episode, or how they got together.
