2010 Answer: Delia Peabody (In Death series) or Ancilla Trent (The Nonesuch)
Hands down, still have to go with Delia Peabody. Why? Because she's good at smoothing things over, administrating, and finds people telling her things she never really wanted to hear. She's also concerned about her body (but not enough to really beat up on herself and actually change her habits) and she's got a guy who loves her just the way she is.
