So, I had a much better Yuletide, writing-wise, than I did in 2012 or 2011.

My assigned story: Nancy Drew and the Case of the Missing Parents (Nancy Drew).  My recipient wanted a throwback to the yellow spines and "frocks and luncheons".  It was a little challenging, just because I usually write more modern Nancy, but fun once I settled on a direction.

My pinch hit #1 : Back Together (Jem and the Holograms) in which my recipient wanted something Kimber and Stormer related, so I went for extension after the end of the series.  The episode where Kimber and Stormer team up has always been an interesting one, if only for bringing the two teams together.  Future femslash hints.

My pinch hit #2: The Sweet Arcade Life (Wreck-It Ralph) in which my recipient wanted an extension of the arcade world.  This one was fun to write (and do a little googling and 80s arcade flashback research), and seems to have been the most popular of the three.

Drabbles: [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan proposed the Yuletide Madness Drabble Invitational this year, and I went in on it to the tune of eleven stories.  I will admit they can be a lot of fun, if challenging.

Three drabbles for He-Man/MOTU, for my most active fandom this year: Not to Know features an introspective Sorceress.  The Gift is a look at the one moment I wish Filmation had shown us that I liked in the 2002 reboot.  Darkest Hour is in response to one of the best prompts I wish I had seen earlier.  It's on my NYR list.

One drabble for Jem: Still Friends, looking at a relationship that didn't get enough time in the show.

One drabble for Wreck-It Ralph: Lesson to Learn, where Vanellope gets a little lesson from Calhoun on manners.

One for Baby-Sitters' Club: Growing Up, a short look at the future.

One for the Hardy Boys: In A Jam, a Hardys-only drabble for [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan since she proposed this whole party.

One for Sweet Valley High: Not So Sweet Dreams, reaction to "The Sweet Life" released in 2013.

One for Clue(1985): Secrets, because how could I resist the prompt that asked us to imagine Mrs. White was a crime baroness?

One for Miss Marple/Harley Quin: Chance Meeting, because you know Mr. Sattherwaite and Miss Marple would make an interesting team, with or without supernatural help.

One for The Thin Man(1934): After The Party, where Nick and Nora banter about parties missing an essential ingredient or two.  This one was for a super-emergency pinch hit that couldn't grow into a whole story fast enough.

So, overall, I wrote 14 stories in 11 fandoms (1 double), in which 5 of them were new fandoms.  Pretty happy with that.

I can't wait for next year!  In the meantime, there are New Year's Resolutions to think about writing.
