Jun. 2nd, 2005 09:34 pmI know I said there would be a real post. But my internet connection is being very bitchy.
95% on my test.
Official promotion MAYBE early next week.
Hiss, Hiss.
Reading the first in Laura Joh Rowland's Sano Ichiro series, Shinju after having read six or seven of the others. So far, it's pretty good, but I think I prefer the books with Reiko instead.
Real post tomorrow, bitchy connection or no.

Date: 2005-06-02 10:19 pm (UTC)And I agree that I like Reiko in the books. Nice to see a strong female character who isn't out of place in her historical setting.
I also like the way she handles the 'villain' of the books too. Total bastard, but still sympathetic.

Date: 2005-06-03 08:59 pm (UTC)Villain = Yanagisawa? Yes, he and Hoshina are a pair. Have you read the newest one, The Perfumed Sleeve ?
Very good. Esp if you like Reiko.

Date: 2005-06-05 02:21 pm (UTC)Was doing some looking around the other day and found out that the Shogun in those books was an actual historical character and that he did actually enact those rulings to protect dogs and such. Kind of figured he was but, still, neat! I think Yanagisawa is a historical figure too but I'm not 100% on that one.
BTW, I was checking out your user info ('cause I'm creepy like that...) and found the womenwarriors community. Neat reading!

Yanagisawa will be back, believe me. He's just that sort of character.

It's entertaining in there sometimes. I think Jenn reads it too.
