 No book discussion.

 I have duty tomorrow night so I'll be on LJ a lot, I predict.  Assuming my students aren't too stupid - which, with this group, might be expecting too much.

 I also have to have "big sister" time with the females and talk about all the girly aspects of being in the Army, and you know, not letting them get in the way of being a soldier.

I'm so glad they never did "big sister time" when I was in AIT. Course, I would have had to have taken over the session anyway; the female drill sergeants were young enough to be my kids, had I been a teenaged mom.

This group seems to be heavy on the "girly" infractions like hair, nails, and acting like they have no brains whenever the XY crowd comes around...

It's sad that women are still held to a higher standard than their male counterparts, but that is reality. At least in the military, the rules regarding hair, makeup, etc are there in black and white, which is more than some professions have.
I've recently arrived at the conclusion that we teach people how to treat us. (Only took 39 years...)If you act like a brainless twit that is what you get back. AND acting like a brainless twit will destroy the respect of your male and female coworkers. I hope you will be able to get through to your students. I don't envy you!
