Dear Yuletide Writer:
I don't know who you are, but I'm sure on December 25th, I'm going to be happy with whichever of these requests you've decided to grant. They are in order of WANT, but all three of them are very much wanted.
General guidelines: I'm not into slash (as per the tags on my reqs) although I can see it in some fandoms (yes, I watch JQ). I'd prefer happiness, although the Christmas variety is NOT required. If it works for you, then I'll enjoy it. I'm a firm believer in mistletoe and romance at Christmas, though. #2 and #3 may lead you into AU land, considering what I'm asking for, and that's cool. The BSC doesn't really lend itself to the AU, but it's something that's not covered in the series itself.
I do write ND/HB fanfic if you're interested in looking it up. I'm DesertVixen on both AO3 and FF.net, and have an ongoing fic I'm trying to finish in time for Yuletide.
#1: Baby-Sitters Club - Elizabeth Thomas Brewer, Watson Brewer, Charlie Thomas, Kristy Thomas
What I'm really, really interested in here: How did these two meet? How did they get into a relationship? Is their favorite movie Yours Mine and Ours? (okay, the combined family isn't that big.) The story in the books is told from the kids' POV, so we don't know any of this, and I want to. I've always assumed it had to be work-related, but maybe not. Tell me about it - either how their relationship starts, or while they're dating, or after they're married and doing something WITHOUT the horde of kids. I have a soft spot for Kristy and Charlie, and how they react as well, but what I'm really interested in is Elizabeth and Watson.
#2: Nancy Drew (books) - Nancy Drew, Helen Corning, Frank Hardy
Helen Corning - where has she been? (The sidekick character before Bess and George, for those who aren't rabid fans) Either a trip back to the yellow-spine era (and bonus points if you can put in Frank Hardy as well) OR update Helen Corning to the more modern books. I ship Nancy/Frank, so no Ned, please. Her biggest appearances (yellow spine) are in The Hidden Staircase, Mystery at Lilac Inn (my favorite), and Invisible Intruder. The last one is couple heavy, so might be fun to play with. Or not. It's up to you, which is the cool thing about Yuletide.
#3: Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries (TV) - Nancy Drew, Frank Hardy, Joe Hardy, Fenton Hardy
The characters' names are the same, but there's a lot of differences in the show. The dynamic between Nancy and Frank is different - in the books Nancy and Frank have a deep friendship underneath the UST - the show leaves that more open to debate, but makes up or it with more of a will-they-or-won't-they attitude (although there's some debate over whether they'll kill each other or end up madly in love). I also like the dynamic between Fenton and Nancy (not Fenton/Nancy, although that might be interesting to explore also) where he respects her detective skills and enjoys watching her and his older son fight. Joe Hardy always brings the comic relief. Feel free to update to modern times if it works for you, although the camp factor is fun too. My favorite episode is the two-parter where they're at the detective convention.
I was going to pick a fourth option, but I couldn't come up with one I wanted as much as one of these three.
Good luck writing!
