cynthia1960 made me an icon recalling one of Lois McMaster Bujold's most memorable scenes...It's sort of one of those "you have to be there" moments, but if you have NOT read Barrayar by Lois McMaster Bujold, and you like SF/space opera even the slightest bit, allow me to point you at Cordelia's Honor, an omnibus edition of Shards of Honor and Barrayar. It's good.

Memory and A Civil Campaign are also very, very good. Memory doesn't go over as well unless you've read the rest of the series, although I think A Civil Campaign is more accessible if you're not familiar with the series. It also appeals to the Regency/Heyer fans.
Memory has moments that blow me away, but they don't make as good icons...
