She also guessed the most songs, but a large portion of the list (and indeed, my iPod) is music that we both like.
Rules:
Put your music library on shuffle.
Post the first lines of the first 25 songs that come up.
The game: Guess which songs the first lines are from!
Google = CHEATING!
1. You're such a flirt, I know you hurt - "Kiwi", Maroon 5 - I love this song, it's one of their sexier ones.

15. We go back so far, swinging in your backyard - "Love Like This", Natasha Bedingfield
16. My friends all say that I'm losing touch, with reality -"Too Much is Not Enough", Bellamy Brothers "duet" with Forrester Sisters - seriously, what do you call it when a vocal duo does a song together with a vocal trio? - calling them a quintet somehow doesn't seem right

Date: 2009-07-10 08:10 pm (UTC)#25 - reminds me of a fanvid I watched once. The vidder did an excellent job capturing the atmosphere.

ooh, #11 is Neil Diamond - Coming to America - another awesome feel good song.

Date: 2009-07-10 08:27 pm (UTC)#3 makes me think of Joe Hardy and Bess Marvin when I'm writing. Lady Antebellum in general makes me pretty happy, although I didn't know the female singer is Linda Davis' daughter. She and the guy sound like they have awesome chemistry.
#8 makes me think Nancy/Frank, and I confess to loving the movie of the same title with Julia Roberts and Dennis Quaid.
#25 always puts me in epic drama mode. I like the Shrek 2 adaptation (the performance in the end where it's punched up and the music matches), but I like the Bonnie Tyler version too. There's several excellent songs from "Footloose".
#11 cheers me up and makes me feel all patriotic.

Date: 2009-07-10 07:57 pm (UTC)Both are right - only 23 is Billie Holiday herself.

no subject
Date: 2009-07-11 06:13 am (UTC)Yes. I really like Pink. Some of the more serious stuff is good ("Dear Mr. President" with the Indigo Girls, "Sober") and then you have stuff like "So What" and "Bad Influence".

17 is Friday Night Blues by John Conlee

Date: 2009-07-12 05:20 pm (UTC)You're right (and you're also right about it being 'bars', not 'hours'.)
13 is also by Trisha Yearwood and Reba McEntire on the Duets CD.
