I don't usually pass these along, but I decided I couldn't just pass this one by.

I'm cutting this because it's kind of painful. It comes from [profile] fiona64 and cat lovers just need to know that it's in memoriam to a lovely kitty.

Dear Friends:

One of the kindest people I know is a cancer patient in Seattle. While he was at the hospital 9/21 for an infusion, his home was broken into. Many of his belongings were damaged or destroyed, but the hardest loss to him was that the perpetrators brutally killed his cat, Patience (for what it's worth, the two teenage perpetrators have already been apprehended and will be brought to justice). Patience was a kitty from the shelter where Jeff volunteers when his health allows, a little three-legged bundle of love who made his life much more pleasant.
Jeff has given me permission to establish a memorial donation page for Patience where people can donate directly to the ASPCA. If you click the link below, you will find more of the story and the means to make a donation of any amount. Even if everyone who sees this gives only one dollar to help with humane education, anti-cruelty legislation, shelters and animal control police funding it will be a help. If you are not in a position to donate at this time I will certainly understand. Thank you for at least considering giving in Patience's memory.

Please spread it around, if you're so inclined. It's in memory of a sweet kitty, to comfort a man who loved her.

I donated last night.  Please think about donating for a good cause.

There is a Speshul Room in Hell for those two boys. And also for their so-called parents.

No Music At This Moment.

I know. It made me pretty sick.

I don't understand why people have to treat animals that way.

The ex-friend of mine who I have often wrote thought of animals as something to throw away, and had no problem with throwing them if they accidentally scratched her or her children. She even told me that one time a dog jumped up on her oldest (as dogs do when they're excited to see someone) and the next day "that dog was GONE!"

I hope animal cruelty charges are brought against these boys. That precious kitty met a cruel, un-deserved death for no reason whatsoever.

I'm unable to donate, but I will pass this around and keep the man in prayers and hope that judgment is swift against those teenagers.

They are being charged. Hopefully they get an actual sentence as opposed to a wrist slap.

Thanks for passing it around. There's been about $130 raised since my donation, and the goal is to raise a thousand dollars.

That's horrid.

Yes. It made me pretty sick to think about it.

The donations to the ASPCA is a nice memorial for both of them, I think - especially since he volunteers at a shelter, something I simply cannot do. I suffer from "bring them all home" disease.

There are other, more important things to donate to.

Some of which I do donate to. However, that's why I said "please think about it".

Also, the money is going to the ASPCA, which is on my good cause list.
