desertvixen: woman reading a book (reading)

So night 2 of this BS at work.  However, we don't have to work Friday, which is pretty spiffy.  When we get out of here, I'm going to go work out, and then I'm going home to bed.  I may stop at Waffle House in between, although that would pretty much cancel out my workout.

I did some tidying of the book catalog, adding the latest set and getting ready to go through the books while I'm on leave later this month and put more of them in boxes.  I'm up over 1800 now.  The next major cull will probably be before we PCS, either in late 2009 or early 2010.

Interesting facts about my book collection:

1. I currently have 246 Regency romances, making them the most populous category.  22 of them are by Georgette Heyer.  The Spanish Bride arrived today, but has not been read.  I think I'm going to save it for my travel next week as it is quite thick.

 2. I currently have 124 Nancy Drew titles (not counting the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys SuperMysteries).  That's yellow spines, Nancy Drew Files and Nancy Drew on Campus titles.

 3. I have more bios of royal women than I have books on royal history.  (23 vs. 20)

 4. I only have 11 American history books, which I'll be adding to over this year, since I'm planning to do my master's in American History.

What didn't work with the biography of Empress Eugenie? Was it ponderous?

Too much about the palace decorations and events of the Second Empire as opposed to stuff about Eugenie's life.

It's hard to describe, but ponderous is as good a word as any. I ddin't think his (Desmond Stewart) writing was all that good either. Not all historians are good authors.

What of the regencies are you willing to loan me while you are Away? And the royal women? Definitely I'd return to you, or buy if you want to cull.

Let me email you a list when I get home.

We can do the borrowing thing, I won't be ready to cull the herd until after Iraq.
