I picked it up a few weeks ago, but didn't get past the first few pages as I got distracted by other reading. However, over the last two days, I have been reading it and got hooked fast in.
The book is called The House on the Point (A Tribute to Franklin W. Dixon and the Hardy Boys) by Benjamin Hoff (also author of The Tao of Pooh).
It's basically a more adult revisioning of the first Hardy Boys book, and it is excellent. I'm tempted to see if there has been a similar book for Nancy Drew and her fans, because this one is just spectacular. One of the best updates is that the women in the story have much more personality than they originally did. The action is more intense and realistic, the characters are better drawn (especially the Hardy brothers).
I picked my copy up on the Barnes and Noble bargain table for $4.99, and it was definitely worth it.
