I *hate* news like this...
Jan. 26th, 2005 02:45 pmThe first thing I saw on the news this morning was about the Marine helicopter that went down. 31 dead Marines.
Oh God, thank you for not making that my husband/our friends
Then I feel guilty because I know that it was someone else's husband and friends.
Praying for their families.

Date: 2005-01-26 04:28 pm (UTC)I know. I hope not.
The big helicopter crash in Nov 03 (Black Hawk, shot down) happened while I was at FLTCE (Foreign Language Training Center - Europe in beautiful Garmisch, Germany) and Brian was in Iraq. At that time, I had not heard from him for almost 2 months, and needless to say, there was a lot of worry. As it turned out, people from our unit were on *that* helicopter, although luckily, none were killed. I didn't hear from my husband for another week, and luckily he doesn't mind me bursting into tears on the phone.
Russian news - you know, they get a lot more graphic. That was hard to watch.
DV (hoping there are no friends of yours among the *37* and hoping that the number does not rise)
