This is me, a seriously pissed vixen.
So, last night, I spent about an hour and a half (not counting the time where it was uploading the pics and I was doing homework and reading the net) trying to place my (rather large) order with Ritzpix.com. This time, I opted to pick the order up in our local store, because the last time they mailed it, it took forever for them to process and send it (and cost $20 to have it mailed USPS).
Nowhere does it tell you that they use DIFFERENT QUALITY PAPER in the store. The photos (matte) look and feel different. They feel cheap. So, I called the store and told them my problem (namely, I'm pissed that I paid $120 for pictures and they came out like this - not just the money, but the time wasted on this, and the fact that there's going to be more time wasted) and the guy said I could bring them back, they'd take the charge off, and I could order them again.
I'm seriously thinking about other options. We have a semi-pro lab here, but they're not on the web and I would have to invest more phone time/leg time.
Not to mention that I just renewed my frequent foto membership, and that will have been kind of a waste of money.

Date: 2007-01-24 02:23 am (UTC)Not so cool. Is there any way you can set preferences on your account (or have them set one, rather?) that specifies paper type? I know you said there wasn't a way on the website, but there should be a way for them to put a huge honkin' flag on your account, right?

Date: 2007-01-24 02:49 am (UTC)I called the store to ask them WHY there was different quality paper, and the answer I was given was that they "must use different paper/different machine". Then again, when I was in the store, he was kind of giving off "I'm-a-manager-but-I-know-nothing" vibes.
I'm planning on running over during my lunch or early afternoon to see if I get a little better reception in person. I don't know if they can do anything with the account, but the manager who is there during the daytime part of the day seems pretty reasonable when I've been in there.
The paper was the paper they use in things like that Kodak machine, only they used matte inks, if that makes sense.
