Wow, for growing up in the 80s - I was in the high school class of 1987 - I don't match many of these. Anything to do with TV and cartoons is a loss to me.

1, 9, 22, 25. I’m too old for 28. 36,37. 44 – just the reeboks, back when they were still something that got me looked at funny. Then they got popular and became low quality, darn it. 63. 54-55-66 – okay, you got me. Now it's STUCK IN MY HEAD, damnit.

I was a teen-ager in the '80s too and except for No. 12 (Thundercats! Ho!) only seven or eight on the list applied. If I stretch a bit.

Though kids still have lunchboxes even today.

These are most excellent. I definitely laughed out loud at a few of them. I think it really works if you were born say.. between 78-84ish. Any earlier or later and you might not have seen as much of these things. One of the better compilations I've seen.

1979, baby.

Right along with the Iranian revolution and Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

I remember sitting at the kitchen table in my dorm in Germany when the newspaper headline announced withdrawal of a large number of Russian troops stationed in East Germany. I remarked about it, and a friend snorted, asking if I thought they might actually be going home. Count on it, he said, those boys are going to show up somewhere else. Sure enough, right after that the Russians invaded Afghanistan.

OMG. I *have* seen all of the movies, every episode of the cartoons. Tripped over ever single TMNT toy ever made, and some that were cobbled together. Can still sing the song. And? The Teflon Spouse and I have actually gotten *teary-eyed* when something about them flashes onscreen now. We pretty much lived with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Ghostbusters for a VERY long time. It was such a sweet time in the boys' lives. And, hey, Casey Jones wasn't exactly hard on the eyes (g).

I think my brothers are a little older than your sons (23 and 21 this year).

But yes, we had Turtles EVERYTHING. Underroos, pjs, all the toys, watched the toons and the movies (Casey wasn't bad). We even had a cat named Shredder. (He liked to claw stuff.)

The newer version bites, though.

Kipper is 21 and Alec is 18 (Man, where did *that* time fly to?).

Oh, yes, jammies, underwear, shoes. What really tickled us was that both boys preferred to wear the underwear *backwards.* It seemed somehow so, I dunno, Freudian, to have the superhero there. (g) Did your brothers do that too, or was that a peculiarity of our family?

Probably my cleverest moment as a mother came once when we hit The Golden Arches of Nutrition, expecting to receive Hot Wheels toys. They were all out. Uh oh, here come extremely disappointed boys...they were scowling fiercely when the girl asked me if the Barbie dolls would do. Yes, I said, they'll be great. Amid howls of protest, I fished them out at the table and with a flourish announced that these were the Klingon Barbies from the Klingon Homeworld. You've never seen brows clear so fast. Whew. Quick thinking, eh? The best part was later seeing Alec sitting on the floor with his William Riker action figure fighting with the Klingon Barbie.

Most totally heinous. I remember all of them, and 55 of them apply to me. The only reason more don't is because I'm a guy.

Still singing Shot Through the Heart...

I remember more than I should (born in '75- so in Kindergarten I was torn between changing my name to Leia or Daisy) but then again I have two little sisters ('79 and '81) so I still got the majority of it. I was the friendship bracelet making queen.

I was born in 1963, & 32 of those applied to me. But then, we've never joined the Adult Conspiracy.
