Cooking dinner while I update, then off to read another Nancy Drew book. They're like candy for my poor little overworked brain.

I started off the day teaching my class (to 50 people!) on extremist groups to fulfill our quarterly requirement for Human Relations Training. Way more turnout than I expected. Got through the class, then tackled paperwork stuff for SFC G. I ended up poking around Recruiting Command looking for some info for one of the soldiers in the platoon. For extra kicks, SFC G is acting First Sergeant this week, so I'm having fun handling a lot of the platoon business.

There's a rifle range tomorrow - luckily I am not firing it or working it because the odds are very good that it will be a charlie-foxtrot (phonetic speak for clusterf*ck) as well as a Learning Event. You know it's going to be bad when it's a Learning Event.... I also demonstrated the usefulness of keeping one's "battle rattle" (kevlar helmet, load bearing equipment) in the trunk, because people less prepared borrowed mine.

Feeling better today, although just a little braindead. Part of why I'm reading something mindless. I finished off the History of the Spencers, and it's going in the used pile. Laura, I mailed the book off to you via media mail, so keep your eye out for it.

Tomorrow evening will be dedicated to updating the bookshelves and cleaning, including doing the bedsheets. Brian gets here on Saturday afternoon... Unfortunately, I will have to run the AC while he's here, because it's definitely hot and humid enough to make him uncomfortable. I try to avoid running it when possible, because I am not bothered by being a touch on the warm side.

(inspired by an incident today...)
Dear Insecure Men of the World,

Why are you bothered by my decision to hyphenate my name? Why do you all feel compelled to say the same thing - "I wouldn't have married my wife if she'd done that"? Perhaps, just perhaps, that might be a reason why we are NOT married. My husband Does Not Care, neither is he oppressed (except when he wants to be...). He's happy I married him, and secure enough in his manhood to not be threatened by my decision to be Danielle Hart-Myhre, and not Danielle Myhre.

Good Day.

Off to eat and read....
