Vulcan's Glory - D.C. Fontana (ST TOS Novel)

Spock/T'Pris & Amanda Grayson (VG Novel), Spock/T'Pris (VG Novel)

Worldbuilding: Vulcans in Starfleet (VG Novel)

Worldbuilding: Life at Vulcan Science Academy (VG Novel)

I loved this book, and I am a big fan of Pike's Enterprise.

Vulcans in Starfleet - The book makes Spock one of 11 Vulcans on the ship, not the only one. Expand on this. The rarity fluctuates from source to source, but it always seemed weird to me. (I tend to assume a higher level of Vulcans, more along the lines of Duane's work.) While I didn't pick the clan structure, feel free to explore whether that plays into the situation.

Spock/T'Pris - I really want an AU where she lives. How does it change Spock? How does his father react? What happens when Kirk takes the Enterprise? How does it impact Amok Time and Spock's relationship with his parents? Or an AU where they meet at the Vulcan Science Academy?

Pretty much what it says on the tin here.  I really enjoyed this book, and I really liked T'Pris.  So, please let her live!  Maybe she goes down to Areta instead of Spock (who does not get taken by surprise.  Bringing the Glory home could be really good.

I just read through it recently, and here’s a really specific thought: I’d love to see T’Pris and Spock visit a beach (based on his and Amanda’s beach stories).  Also curious to see how Amanda deals with the situation in light of the tension that is in the book relastionships.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983)

Randor/Marlena (MOTU 1983), Marlena & Adam | He-Man (MOTU 1983), Man-at-Arms & Marlena (MOTU 1983), Marlena (MOTU 1983)

Worldbuilding: Eternia makes contact with Earth (MOTU 1983)

Worldbuilding: Earth Space Rover lands on Eternia (MOTU 1983)

Worldbuilding: Constellations of Eternia (MOTU 1983)

So I was sort of expecting to have to defend this one, because He-Man and Space Swap?

But the facts are pretty clear.

Marlena Glenn is an astronaut from Earth who crashes on Eternia, falls for the king, and never goes home. Oh yeah, and her kids are superheroes.

There is an episode where Eternia and Earth make contact, but it's not the best. So give me a better one! Maybe some sort of rover/probe/space machine ends up on Eternia (yes, I would totally love a happy ending for a little space machine whose battery is running low and it's dark) and this leads to them making contact? I'd love to see Marlena at least visit home, or have vistors from home, or somehow open up communications.

I especially like the little space machines. Man-at-Arms could fix and improve it! I would also love the idea that Earth has been looking for Marlena.

Or if you want to go a different route, what constellations do the Eternians see? What are their stories? (Maybe one could be the Tiger? or the Champion? or the Falcon? or Duncan's Hammer?) Is Sol visible from Eternia?

I don’t have a lot to add.  I have seen Revelations but not the reboot, but on this one all the detail is in the request.  Obviously the space machine would be more of a probe than a rover, but that is Opportunity focused.  I'm good with something more introspective/romantic with the constellations one, and I would enjoy seeing Marlena get a message from home or even the chance to visit.

Vorkosigan Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold

Tej Arqua Vorpatril/Ivan Vorpatril (VK Saga), Tej Arqua Vorpatril & Alys Vorpatril (VK Saga), Laisa Toscane Vorbarra & Tej Arqua Vorpatril (VK Saga)

Worldbuilding: Barrayaran Period Historical Drama (VK Saga)

Worldbuilding: Lost colony discovered (VK Saga)

Period dramas - Tej starts watching the equivalent of Downton Abbey set during the Time of Isolation or Regency. She's hooked but Ivan and Alys may not be. Alternately, Alys has a guilty habit of watching them (and possibly critiquing them). I'm also down for a treatment of over the top costume drama on these periods. Bonus points if you have characters based on Alys and Padma in it (with her critique). Perhaps she gets Laisa interested as well?

Discovering a lost colony - I'd like to see Ivan and Tej be sent in their diplomatic role. Have fun.

I do want Ivan/Tej in whatever you do. I love them. Background G/L is also excellent.

So I am clearly Team Vorpatril all the way. I love the period drama one, and have even flirted with writing it myself to no avail. I'm down for all of it. Feel free to have Cordelia put in her contribution as well!

Not much to add here, really.  Obviously those dramas should be lavish fashion and maybe not so lavish history...  Feel free to insert Duv Galeni rolling his eyes at popular history.

The lost colony one, it would be awesome if there was some tenuous tie to Barrayar (like one of the ethnicities) – or if they’re stuck in a stage similar to the Time of Isolation.  You can involve Miles but don’t let him take things over.

Star Trek Rihannsu Novels - Diane Duane

Ael t'Rllaillieu & Leonard "Bones" McCoy (Duane ST novels), Ael t'Rllaillieu & Spock (Duane ST novels)Fanfiction

Worldbuilding: Vulcans in Starfleet (Duane ST novels)

Worldbuilding: Rihannsu/Romulans make peace with Federation (Duane ST novels) Worldbuilding: Patrols along Romulan Neutral Zone (Duane ST novels)

I totally prefer Diane Duane's/TOS Romulans/Rihannsu to what we got in TNG and later. I also love how Duane envisions Starfleet, and the idea that the Vulcans are everywhere.

Vulcans in Starfleet - How do they deal with everyone else?

Rihannsu make peace - The Romulans would totally be better allies than the Klingons. Tell me a story of this AU (feel free to combine it with the Yesterday's Enterprise prompt in TNG). Focus on Rihannsu please.

Ael & Spock - I love how they interact.

Ael & Bones - Same

Patrols along the Neutral Zone - It doesn't have to be a battle, but I feel like there is a lot of ground to tell stories in this vein. Feel free to have the Rihannsu get the upper hand, or tie into peace prompt. A daring rescue goes a long way!

All of this.  I prefer the first 2 books (My Enemy My Ally & The Romulan Way).

I don't have much to add.  I love the history and culture of the Rihannsu and want more.  I will give you this quote from My Enemy, My Ally:

"Jim spent about half a second simply being astonished at how many different kinds of Vulcans there were. On some level he had become conditioned to their being dark, and usually tall. But here were gigantic seven-foot Vulcans and little delicate ones, Vulcans slimmer even than Spock and Vulcans much burlier—none of them actually being overweight; Starfleet regulations to one side, Jim suspected nonglandular fat of being, as far as Vulcans were concerned, "illogical." And there were fair Vulcans, blond and ash blond and very light brunette, and, good Lord, several redheads— Most important, there were four hundred and eight of them. Jim could think of a lot of worse things than having four hundred Vulcans, all coolly furious over the loss of their Captain, at his back in a charge down that corridor."

Spock's World - Diane Duane (TOS Novel)

T'Vei/Pekev (Spock's World), Spock & Leonard "Bones" McCoy (Spock's World), Sarek/Amanda Grayson & Spock (Spock's World

Worldbuilding: The Referendum on Seceding from the Federation (Spock's World) Worldbuilding: Crew Mixers on the Enterprise (Spock's World)

Worldbuilding: 'Ahkh - The War (Spock's World)

Vulcan Secession - Maybe an AU where the referendum succeeds and the impact?

Crew Mixers - I hear they throw wingdings. Tell me about one.

The 'Ahkh - I'm interested in the whole use of psionic arts in space warfare.

TVei/Pekev - Maybe an AU for this doomed pair?

Spock & Bones - I love a good argument.

Sarek/Amanda & Spock - Good for the AU or aftermath of the book itself.

Any of these would be excellent to read about.  Feel free to drag in things from Duane’s other books, or even cross over with Vulcan’s Glory.  Bones vs. Vulcans is always good.

Here’s a few sections I really enjoy:

“Dammit,” McCoy said, “when did I last turn down an argument with a Vulcan? I can hardly pass up one with the whole planet.”

“And if the Vulcans vote to secede?” “Then all public trade and defense agreements lapse. Private ones are subject to renegotiation if all involved parties desire. But all Vulcan civilians must either return permanently to Vulcan—or emigrate permanently, if they desire to reside elsewhere. All Vulcan bases and vessels in Federation service will be withdrawn; all Vulcan diplomatic personnel, starships, and starship personnel will be recalled,” Spock said. “Those who disobey the order will be stripped of their Vulcan citizen status and exiled. The Federation will cease to exist for Vulcan.” Spock looked up. “You will be dead to us.”

“In the more formal forms of the debate,” Spock said, “everything is allowed up to ritual duels to the death.”

The chief psi-talents of the planet, great architects and builders, and technicians who had long mastered the subleties of the undermind, went out in the ships and taught the Duthuliv pirates that weapons weren’t everything. Metal came unraveled in ships’ hulls; pilots calmly locked their ships into suicidal courses, unheeding of the screams of the crews: and the Vulcans beamed images of the destruction back to Duthul and Etosha, lest there should be any confusion about the cause. The message was meant to be plain: kill us and die.
