She's the one who taught me to read, so it's a pretty fitting remembrance. The ones she actually gave me live in my cedar chest now, and I have reading copies on the shelf (although I need to replace my Anne of Green Gables because I lent it to someone who had never heard of Anne Shirley.
The first miniseries is awesome. It's right up there with the A&E 1996 Pride and Prejudice on how to adapt a book well.
