So, reading [community profile] customers_suck this morning, and there's an entertaining entry with a side of ever-popular Birth-Wars-Wank.

No, because if someone didn't do things the way THEY did them, they're invalidated.

THEY did it, EVERYONE can do it.

There's a person on the f-list who, for her own reasons, chose to have a midwife and home deliveries for at least the last 2 of her children. She also chooses to breastfeed for longer than many people do, and she has chosen to stay home (in part because it makes economic sense for them).

And I love her. Because she doesn't sit there and get all judgmental and "well, I did it, why can't you?" when other mothers who are her friends make different choices.

I didn't have an epidural. And although I had planned to, circumstances changed, and I didn't. I was much happier with not having one, and would plan to not have one again. But I'm definitely not going to tell people that epidurals are evil and hurt your baby.

It's unfortunate, because some women have had really ugly experiences with doctors and nurses who got power-trippy.

As far as I'm concerned, these people have a special place reserved for them next to the people who want to tell total random pregnant strangers how THEY were in labor for 25 HOURS with NO DRUGS and O IT WUZ HORRIBLE.
