So, I'm bored, and Adrianna wants to eat lots.
For lack of better entertainment, I wandered into
childfree. A bit harsh in there, but hey, having kids is NOT for everyone. Even when you really want to have kids, they're still a lot of hard work. I just find it interesting to check out various viewpoints.
While I was in there, I picked up this link: http://www.aboverubies.org/articles/101.html
101 Reasons For Having Children.
This is better than the Prairie Muffin Manifesto bit. Same mindset, although these folks have their own magazine. Not listing all of them, just some of my favorites.
We not only want to receive gifts from God for ourselves, but we want to give more gifts to the world. Every God gives us is a gift to the world
It's an honor for the Lord to use my womb again.
The birth of a baby is the ultimate fulfillment of love between a husband and wife. Each child is an unbreakable bond between a father and mother.
Well, yes. Even if you get divorced, you're still tied to that person in some way. Not that this is always a good thing.
I'll have more hands to help.
I'll have more babies to nurse and therefore less risk of breast cancer.
It's just as easy to cook for ten as it is for one!
We want to establish a godly dynasty that will continue down the generations to come.
We desire to raise up a standard for God in this evil day.
I'm replenishing the earth with godly seed.
To be open to more children shows our present children that we love them. How can our children understand the love of God if we have the attitude that a certain number of children is too many?
I want to rear strong soldiers for the Lord.
My body was created for this purpose.
I want to yield my womb as a living sacrifice to God.
Babies are also a blessing to other people. They sure love to hold and cuddle mine. Since my siblings have stopped at two children per family, I want to supply them for my parents and everyone else's pleasure.
Yikes. I guess if it's working for them, go for it.
If things go as we plan, Adrianna will have a younger male sibling - and her furry siblings, of course. I love being a mother, but I want us to be able to have nice things for our children.
