(no subject)

 I went down to Finance today and put in the last deposit to bring my deployment Savings Deposit Program up to the full amount of $10K - you can put more in, but you won't earn the extra interest.  That means now we're on to paying bills.  It doesn't currently look like I'll be coming home earlier than the full year, which is nice from a financial standpoint.  I'll be home on leave in February, and I'm sure that will put a bit of a dent in the finances, but worth it after the deprivation over here.  I've been doing good about not spending extra money - a habit that needs to stay when I get home.

 I haven't been buying many books because of the limits on free time, although I did order the newest JD Robb because I could seriously use a shot of Eve and Roarke and the crew.  I have the series in HC since they've come out in HC, so I prefer not to order them on the Kindle.  I've also had class-related reading that I've been dragging on because it's boring and droning on about art criticism, which just is not my thing.  Especially when all of the art reproductions inside the book are of pretty bad quality.

desert_sdwndr is on his way over here, for those not following along on FB with him, so that is very exciting.  It will be a little different having him over here, but I am looking forward to it.  Hopefully he doesn't get too hung up along the travel route.  This has been the longest that we have gone without seeing each other for at least a weekend, so I will be very happy to see him.
