Ha Ha Ha on the April Fools joke.

 Here's a thought.

Instead of all the scare-mongering and distorton going on after the latest day-care study to hit the news, how about FIXING day care?  (Especially since even FATHERS were considered day care by its standards.)

How about creating standards?  How about paying people a good wage to do this job?

How about we stop blaming mothers who need to work, and thus need to use this system?

As far as I am concerned, day care has been nothing but good for MV.  We have an excellent center where the staff cares about the children they supervise, and don't have so many that it's impossible to do the job.  They have administrators who work with the parents to avoid problems.  She gets to be a social butterfly, be around kids her own age, and play with stuff we don't have.

Family daycare is not an option for us.  Our nearest grandmother is 6 hours away, and I wouldn't leave MV with her anyway, as we do not agree on several tenets of childraising.  Even if we did live closer to one of the other two, they work.  They have lives beyond providing me with childcare.

Let's quit heaping more guilt on mothers and try to fix the problem.
