Reading Post #17
Apr. 15th, 2006 10:09 pmA little late on this one, but super lethargic last weekend. Without further ado...
I struggled through my latest entry in Anne Perry's Charlotte and Thomas Pitt series, Bedford Square. This one was hard to get into, and I am not entirely sure why. It seemed to take forever for the mystery to kick off, and if I hadn't read other good books in the series, I probably would have dropped it. The Gracie and Tellman plot is taking off nicely, at least.
Amazon brought me the new Amelia Peabody book, Tomb of the Golden Bird. Unspoilered review - pretty good, if not the best entry in the series. Events seemed a little jumpy and disjointed. It's also chronologically the last Amelia book, any others will be fill-ins. I, like other female readers, probably wouldn't be disappointed to see young, single Ramses back for more. :) Spoilered review: ( Read more... )
I read some other stuff, but those were the two big ones.
