ginmar on their reading list, I simply have to share this link to FamilyScholars.org . Yet another example of why some in the conservative spectrum scare the fuck out of me.

I had to go read this after reading the comments in
ginmar's journal, and...wow. It's like an advertisement for one of the uses of the First Amendment - free speech for all, so we know where the crazies are.
Warning: this is seriously sick. Fathers may be tempted to break out their shotguns. Mothers may be tempted to whip out sharpened kitchen utensils. (Or hey, vice versa if it applies to you. Pick the method with which you could do more mayhem.)

Kosos Family Is Supporting Couple With Baby On Way

FALLS CITY, Neb. -- Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning said Wednesday that the marriage between a 22-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl is “repugnant."
Tuesday, Bruning filed charges against Matthew Koso, of Falls City, Neb. Bruning said Koso began a sexual relationship with the girl when she was 13. After the girl became pregnant, her mother gave permission in May for Koso to take her daughter to Kansas, which allows minors to get married with parental consent.
Koso faces a charge of first-degree sexual assault, punishable by up to 50 years in prison. He was released on a $7,500 bond.
Koso’s mother said her son was just trying to do the right thing. Peggy Koso said her son and daughter-in-law are staying with her. Peggy Koso said the couple is the picture of happiness.
Okay, here's a thought about the right thing. It does not include having sex with a thirteen year old female child.
Koso's parents, with his attorney at their side, said Wednesday that the young couple had been friends for years. They became sexually involved about a month before she got pregnant.
The Kosos said the Richardson County Attorney’s Office investigated allegations of statutory rape, and after two months, still hadn't filed charges. That's why they were surprised when Bruning did.
Bruning said that because the girl was under 16 when they had sex, that's a crime in Nebraska.
Last year, a Richardson County judge issued the protection order against Koso, but when the girl became pregnant, the judge lifted the order.
The baby is due in August. The Kosos said they don't understand what good could come out of sending the father-to-be to jail.

Besides the whole question of what a 22 year old guy is doing hanging around a 13 year old girl, how about the medical ramifications? I've seen a ref to an article that mentions both of them being of limited mental capacity, which in my view is another reason why someone should be up in arms - because her parents? Aren't. WTF, over.
