Midpoint Update

Brian is still here, running out to change over the laundry like a nice husband.

We had a nice dinner on the 23rd at Benihana (site of the Question) where it was apparently "Bring your kids to Benihana for the first time ever" night. Brought home extra fried rice for lunch the next day at work. A little of the ginger sauce got spilled into it, but not bad.

Our Christmas Eve was relatively quiet. I had to work during the day, but the Evil W did not make an appearance. It was great. Then, after 2 trips by Brian to the store for supplies, I alternately a) made my homemade spaghetti sauce for dinner (and a few days of work-lunch) and b) did prep for my part of Christmas dinner. We watched Pride and Prejudice for his first time, and it went over well. I do like the miniseries, what can I say?

Christmas Day was nice and relaxed. We slept in, and then opened breakfast. Some of my gifts are apparently still being shipped from Amazon, however. Then we lazed around and relaxed, and naturally, read. We went to a dinner party with some of our friends/co-workers and stayed out until almost one.

Today... today we shopped a little. Surprise, surprise, bought more books.

ST: New Frontier - After The Fall

The new New Frontier book, out in hardcover. There has been some discussion on other boards that didn't look favorably on the book. I, on the other hand, really really liked it.

This was excellent. It was good, fast-paced PAD, although some of the plot twists did not surprise me all that much. I am quite surprised/disappointed by Soleta's plot, and am now overcome with fanfic ideas. The 3 year gap is a bit extreme, but at the same time, it gives plenty of room for working in.
