Voltron

Can you tell I have more time without the MV here or what?

So anyway, I got through all of the fourth set of the Voltron DVDs today while I was having a kitchen cleaning frenzy.  A few observations:

 1) Am I the only one who wants to drop-kick Prince Bandor?  I know he's a kid, but he's very annoying.

 2) I still love Lance.  Because he's the team smart-ass.  This should not be news to anyone.

 3) Every now and then, Bandor is actually useful.

 4) Apparently I need to finish watching the third set, because I missed a big chunk of plot.

I only have the first set. The others have to wait for employment to happen. Remind me who Bandor is?

Romelle's younger brother. The little red-headed kid in the Greek outfit. (Romelle is Allura's cousin on Pollux, the one who ends up with Sven - or his brother if you're watching the original)

Except that it makes more sense that it's Sven, not his identtical brother. Usually the American bowdlerizations come up with crackpot things like that.

Well, if Sven still died in the American version, the brother thing would still make sense.

I was totally amused by the whole part where they admitted, "we basically just made shit up".

I am excited by the fact that the original anime series is going to be made available to American fans on DVD.

Child of the 80's (well, 1979 actually, which of course was a busy year for the world).

We have Voltron, He-Man, some She-Ra, Dungeons and Dragons, Jem, and of course... GI Joe.

Because knowing is half the battle...

I revisited my childhood when Voltron was on Adult Swim again and I completely concur about both Bandor and Lance.

The bit where he's hassling his sister and Sven is pretty good - but other than that, every time I hear his voice, I just want to cringe.
