I'm always afraid to read fanfic unless it's by someone I've read before, or recommended by someone whose opinion I trust.

Those characters are my friends [g], and it's important that I don't end up needing brain bleach after I read about them.

Glad I could recommend a few. There's some really good stuff, although I'm not much on the serious AUs that have been started.

And yes! Characterization is important. There's some really, really, really good ones that just fit so perfectly. I read some more last night (naturally), so I'll rec those later.

I may have dived into some bad fanfic now and then, but I have an attraction for trainwrecks...

I'd read the one about Ekaterin's and Miles's first night together before, but I'd forgotten how much it made me grin. The others were new to me.

I also learned how to download AO3 fanfic to my Kindle. I suspect I'm going to regret learning how to do that...
