Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys Super Sleuths #1
So, back in 1981, someone involved in the publishing of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys titles decided it would a good idea to put the trio together in books. This was before the Super Mysteries, and was aimed at a lower age level for the readers. There is no romantic element, just the whole "good friends vibe" combined with the trio either going on a case together or one element visiting the other.
I found it at Nine Lives Books in San Antonio and snapped it up. I have #2 in my boxes somewhere, and I'll have to share from that one as well.
There's not much in the stories worth relating, but some of the art is on my must-share list.

This is the whole cover.

Here's a closeup. No wonder there's no romance - Nancy looks like she's older enough to be their babysitter!

This is one of the interior pencil illustrations from that time period of books. Nancy's in an "old lady" costume, with Fenton having the "what is this" look on his face.

The guys have climbed down, leaving Nancy to climb down this ivy all by herself. I actually like this illustration.
Just had to share the fun!

In my school, everyone who was cool read Hardy Boys and no one would be caught dead reading Nancy Drew. Since I loved Nancy Drew, I read the books secretly and never told a soul.

Thanks!
I'm working on expanding my collection, and I have Super Sleuths #2 to poke a little fun at as well.
I'm picking up some of the Applewood facsimile reprints (most Nancy, but some Hardy Boys as well) but primarily I was a 80s kid, so I read a lot of the Files/Casefiles, and it wasn't until I was an adult that I read all the yellow spine ones.

Grand memories.
Yes, all the Nancy Drews I owned were the yellow spine variety. I remembered that I loved the cover of the The Password to Larkspur Lane. The title, too.
