(no subject)

We arrived home safe and sound.

However, let me say that this was NOT an advertisement to fly the friendly skies.

OMG. Full story later, but basically? ATL bites.

Pictures to follow. I only took about 220. :)

Glad you're home safely! Does your lightning icon have anything to do with the flight??

I didn't think to warn you- Delta sucks big time.

In '99 I flew back to VT on Continental and went through Newark (OMFG). Little did I know -- having run my CD player all the previous night and making a blatant point to IGNORE as much news as possible -- that John-John Kennedy had gone down the night before. Add that to bad weather on the Eastern Seaboard, and I spent half a damn day and into the night in Newark! I was supposed to have gotten into Burlington at around 5pm, I finally landed after nine! MAJOR KUDOS to the Burger King on Pearl St. in Essex Jct. still being open.

Then in '03 I flew back again for my HS reunion (WHOLE 'nother rant). Flew JetBlue through JFK. Thing is, I left Denver at midnight, which meant I got to JFK at 5-something. My flight to Burlington wasn't until 9am! I may be a creative, resourceful, self-reliant sort, but even *I* can't kill a four-hour layover!

I don't care WHAT my mother says or how high gas prices get. Next time I go back to VT, I'm damn well driving. Anyplace I can't get with four wheels and an engine, I don't need to be.

If we'd planned a bit better, you could've left your car at our house, & I could've run you to/from the airport. Keep that in mind for future reference.
