It goes without saying that I know I'll love what you write, so good luck!

General Stuff:

Stories don’t need to be super sappy and sugary/fluffy, but please don’t get all grim and dark. Bittersweet can work if there are hopeful tinges.

I like humor, and I don't think I do a good job of writing it - sparkling snappy dialogue always works!

I generally prefer het or gen. I'm good with explicit sex, but I am not really into any kinks. For this challenge, I would prefer not to have explicit sex.

I'm a fan of AU, but prefer canon-divergence or "what-if" scenarios, rather than "all the characters are at boarding school together" types (Unless they ARE all at boarding school together...)

Stories where problems are solved by feminine insight/intuition rock!

If you know more than one of the requested fandoms, I love crossovers. But only if you like to write them!

I love urban legends - the vanishing hitchhiker in particular.

I also have a fascination for unsolved crimes/mysteries, people who've disappeared, and bodies with no names.

Please no explicit violence/gore (nothing higher than what already exists in a canon) and no graphic sexual violence. I'd also prefer you avoid major (i.e. nominated) character death. Also please no animal violence/cruelty.

1. Are You There God? It's Me Margaret - Judy Blume
Margaret Simon, Laura Danker, Nancy Wheeler

DNW: excessive violence, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children

What I would really like is how these 3 interact down the road (later in middle school or high school)

Does Margaret fall for more of Nancy's fibs? Or does she befriend Laura? Or she can do a little of both. Feel free to set it in the book time or bring it up to modern days.

2.Cherry Ames - Helen Wells & Julie Tatham
Cherry Ames, Marie Swift, Lex Upham

DNW: excessive violence, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children

I'd like for Cherry and Marie to have an adventure together, especially one in which Marie's background is useful. Lex is optional, but if you include him, give him and Cherry a moment.

You can set this in wartime or the vague "anytime" that the other books, but I want to see Marie Swift in action. She's one of the least developed chums, but we know she's blond, elegant, and has a privileged family background. If you want to throw Lex in the mix, go for it.

3.The Bobbsey Twins - Laura Lee Hope
Nan Bobbsey, Mary Bobbsey, Nellie Parks

DNW: excessive violence, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children, NO Flossie or Freddie

Perhaps a ladies day out turns into an adventure? Feel free to age the girls up to HS.

Feel free to give them a Nancy Drew style adventure, or go with something like shopping for prom (or weddings, I love weddings). Or combine them...

4. Wait Till Helen Comes - Mary Downing Hahn
Helen Harper, Rose (Wait Till Helen Comes), Mr. Simmons' Sister (Wait Till Helen Comes), Mr. Simmons (Wait Till Helen Comes)

DNW: excessive violence, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children

In the book, Mr. Simmons (the graveyard caretaker) tells Molly that his sister is convinced that their cousin Rose drowned in the pond because of Helen Harper's ghost. Although he presents himself as not believing it, I'm skeptical. Tell me Rose's story.

Maybe one of the first really creepy stories I read. However, I also have this bad problem where I constantly get sidetracked when reading onto minor characters. In this one, the cemetery caretaker (Mr. Simmons) tells Molly that his sister believes their cousin Rose was lured to her death in Harper Pond. Tell me that story - why was Rose one of the young, friendless girls the ghost preyed on? What's her back story? Did the unnamed sister try to save her like Molly does? And, another thing that bothers me: given this story, why doesn't Mr. Simmons say anything when they find Helen's gravestone at first? Is he concealing it for some reason?

Good luck!
