May The Fourth Be With You Dear Yoda Letter
Dear writer,
My apologies if you already checked this and saw that it was just a placeholder.
So, I'm a Star Wars fan. A Star Wars fan who's a little sad that the Extended Universe got handwaved away - feel free to refer to anything that happened in a Timothy Zahn or Michael Stackpole "Rogue Squadron" novel. Please don't refer to anything that happened after the godawful Vector Prime and switch to Del Rey.
I'm also not a very active Star Wars fan. I enjoyed TFA, I love the original 3, and I am NOT a fan of the prequels. My heart is with the original 3.
I'm also not really a Luke fan. Give me Han and Wedge any day of the week. And maybe Ben Kenobi.
General wants: I'm okay with fluffy-but-not-unrelieved-sugar, bittersweet-but-not-despair-of-the-ages, humor, romance, adventure, mystery. I am not opposed to sex as long as it's in character. Explicit is okay, but so is fade to black. I like "what-if" AUs, but not "Star Wars: The Dorms".
General DNW: No noncon, dubcon, graphic violence or torture, major character death (that's not already canon compliant - i.e., Han in TFA).
I know whatever you write, I'm going to love!
My requests:
1. Wedge Antilles - So, I'm a huge huge Wedge Antilles fangirl. Have always liked him, always will. My affection for him led me to the Rogue Squadron novels (feel free to refer to those bad boys any time). Give me something about IV or VI's Rogue Squadron, pre-flight rituals, or take it into TFA territory and tell me what he's up to. Please don't kill him off. I'm also aware of the Rogue Squadron comics and the whole bit with his sister, his parents, the Terriks (if you want to work one of those 2 in, go for it) and I like them. Maybe explore how Wedge feels about Luke running off? Maybe he helped train Poe Dameron (who I like)?
2. Leia & Luke (not into Leia/Luke - no offense if you are, but not my cup of tea). So, if I were Leia, I'd probably be a little pissed at Luke. Her son's turned to the dark side, he's killed his father/her mate, and then her brother runs away and hides. Does she blame him for Kylo Ren? Is she sad/concerned that he's gone? Does she maybe secretly hope that Rey can't find him so they don't have to deal with any of this? I'd prefer a focus on TFA-era Leia & Luke, but if none of these work for you, then talk to me about ROTJ and the aftermath of that for the 3 of them.
3. Biggs Darklighter - What I'd like is an AU where Biggs lives. Feel free to kill someone in his place - hell, feel free to kill Luke in his place. Make Biggs Darklighter the most famous flier from Tatooine. (If this leads down into kind of a depression spiral for the Rebellion, that's okay) Or give us some of the downtime at Yavin before the big battle. How does he fit in with everyone else?
