Work related venting, beware

This is just not a good day.
I discovered that apparently I am not eligible for a bonus because I am considered a midcareer soldier and am not an E-5 (due to the fact that our promotions are stalled). I am seriously reconsidering whether or not I reenlist with this as a consideration. Not so much the money, but for the screwing over factor. Do I really want to sign on for more of this? Do I want to go through four months of class with people who are getting insane bonuses when I am getting nothing, never mind the fact that I outrank them?
I am seriously pissed. Especially since I just got a congratulatory letter from the branch manager. I was actually starting to look at possible new vehicles. I was starting to think about the things my husband and I could do with bonus money - like, a bedroom set. For when we have a bedroom together. We're trying to find some loophole. Keep your fingers crossed, please.
Also annoyed that I had to spend twenty dollars to exercise my constitutional right to vote, as my absentee ballot arrived today. Sent by Second Day mail to ensure it gets delivered by Monday. Of course, not voting is more expensive. And as I refuse to become a Texas resident (I prefer instead to be a Nevadan), it's a price worth paying.
Glad to see the Sox win. Maybe other ill-starred teams can suceed this year (GO Lions!). Hope springs eternal.
