Second Anniversary...

Today is the second anniversary of our civil service (pre-deployment to Iraq) marriage. We have lived together for a total of less than 2 months, not consecutively. Soon, soon, soon.

The husband is not so happy today, as he has a pulled thigh muscle (and I'm not there to kiss it better, damn) from running special population (weight fail/pt fail/broken) PT.

I celebrated by going to dinner with a friend and going to Borders.

I also recieved my Joint Service Achievement Medal today, so hopefully I'll have a spiffy picture to post of me in my Class B uniform. I like to call it my reward for not killing anyone in these three years.

The dining in is tomorrow night, and I'm so not looking forward to it. I am hoping that Top can make the evening entertaining. I'm also not drinking, since I need to drive north Saturday morning. My plan is to leave Saturday morning (seven or eightish) to join the minicon. I am bringing Russian Bujold Materials! There had better be suitable desserts awaiting me!

Andre Norton has passed on, leaving us without another legend.

I was bad. I bought books.

Happy anniversary, DV! It doesn't seem like two years since we celebrated your wedding on the List! Hope the time until he returns passes quickly and have a great time at the minicon.

Well, technically, our wedding was July 24, 2004. We got hitched for legal reasons (ie, Army girlfriends have no rights, Army wives DO) on March 17, 2003, 2 weeks before they all got shipped off to Iraq. Thankfully, I didn't have to assert any of my wifely rights.
