I'm about to get started on Fort Gordon. Apologies in advance.

They were so broke before I left for this deployment, that for months, small issues that needed to be fixed (potholes in the road being one of them) couldn't because there was no money to fix them. Our brigade had to close our DFAC and now we have to share a DFAC with 93rd and the permanent party side of 15th. However, this caused problems for my battalion, as we didn't have meal cards for the Soldiers that needed them, and 93rd's DFAC wouldn't let our Soldiers eat there (until they got an ass chewing after being told about the problem 5679875245 times). It's also a large inconvenience for Soldiers on meal cards that don't have cars, because of the distance to the DFAC from our barracks.

I don't know how it works for all the civilian personnel on post, but I just wonder why they don't have Soldiers do some of the jobs (I'm think Darling Hall and the DFACs).
